Mr S took out a loan for £66,000 to do some home improvements. Despite his loan company having ceased trading, we obtained a full refund of the PPI premium he paid, plus the interest charged and further interest at 8%, which totalled £10,555.

PPI complaint on a loan
Refunded £7,918
Mr T received a small rebate on the PPI premiums paid when his loan was settled early, more than 4 years ago. Despite already having had a rebate Mr T still received a payment of £7,918 after we complained about the sale of the policy.
Mr L, from East Lothian
Payment Protection Insurance claim on a loan
Refunded £13,015
Mr L took out his loan for £20,000, of which £7,000 was the premium for the PPI. After our complaint Mr L was awarded a full refund of the premiums paid, plus interest charged and further interest at 8% per year and received a total refund of £13,015.
Mr W, from Cheshire
Mis sold loan PPI
Refunded £9,300
Mr W originally borrowed £32,300 to consolidate his existing debts. The PPI on this loan was £6,300, on which he had to pay interest. After our initial complaint the loan company offered a refund of £3,002, which they said was in-line with the terms and conditions of the loan. We didn’t agree with this and after further arguments Mr W received a cheque for £9,300.

Mr H borrowed £54,300 to consolidate some debts, of the amount borrowed £4,870 was paying for the PPI policy. The initial complaint was rejected by the loan company because the loan had been repaid over 2 years ago. Following our arguments Mr H received a cheque for £6,254.
